| | | | | | | | Ron and Jodi Hansen and the girls Welcome you! | | | | | | | | 2012 marks the fourth season at Sheyenne Oaks Horse Camp & RV Park! Time flies when we are having fun. We love seeing everyone arrive and settle in with anticipation of a good time. For some of you, this year will be your first visit and we welcome you. You will be surprised that our “grasslands” are far from the picture you may have in mind. Our land is up the hill and down the ravine with the surprise of nature at every turn: little springs bubble out of the side hills, a pond glistens at the bottom of the valley, a scarlet tanager skims through the large oak trees. A previous guest likened our scenery to the Missouri Ozarks on a smaller scale.
The Sheyenne National Grasslands just
waits to be discovered!
One of the most intriguing
features of the Sheyenne is the
fact that the North Country
National Scenic Trail runs
through it. This is a
recreational trail, winding
amongst the states of New York,
Pennsylvania, Michigan,
Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North
Dakota. One day this trail will
be a 4000 mile footpath across
the northern United States. 1700
miles of it are complete, with a
good unbroken stretch in the
Sheyenne. While you explore
watch for the Prairie Chicken,
the Western Meadow Lark, the
Yellow Lady Slipper Orchid; the
list is long.

Sheyenne Oaks Horse Camp & RV Park
is situated just 40 miles southwest of
Fargo, ND on 120 acres of privately
owned land. This horse camp/RV park
borders the north boundary of the
Sheyenne National Grasslands just one
mile north of the trailhead. Nestled
into this pristine land, Sheyenne Oaks
offers 21 sites with full
accommodations: electrical hookup (50,
30, and 20 amp), sewer, and water. The
central shower house has three
individual rooms each with a shower,
toilet and sink. The sites are long and
spacious to comfortably pull into and
setup large horse trailers and RV
Campers. The driveways are such that
backing up is not required.
